Many thoughts, discussions and observations, have forced me to start writing this chain of articles. All the way through it, I wish to set the core idea of strategic thinking, which should lead us to understand our full potential out of the Armenian Reality. I will take into consideration our current situation as a whole people and nation (Diaspora-Armenia), geopolitics, and our yet unrealized potential in the light of a globalising world. This intends to gradually prepare our thoughts for working out an “Armenian Strategy” Hay Razmavaroutioun.

Today Armenian reality could be perceived through three major phenomena:

- a free and independent Armenia
- a diverse but unique Diaspora.
- A liberated Artzakh

In this context Armenia as a state and Armenian territory in general, lies at the centre of geopolitical interests, at the crossroads of civilization, between the Greater Middle East, Europe, and Russia. We could even say between the Far East and the far West, simply at the centre of today’s world’s attention. Besides Armenia and our territories, which are a fact at the centre of such an important geopolitical region, our People are realities in each major region of the world who influence on that region of geopolitical importance. Be it the United States, the European Union, Russia or the different actors of Middle Eastern political diversity, all have interest, of which the primary interest of each is security for its own interests and society. For the giants it is important that the region stays stable in order secure its recourses from the entire region. As for the minor actors, it is important that they do not become victims of greater political gambling and secure for themselves at least the right to speak.

In this context lies our responsibility. It is our people who are part of the societies of each of those power centres and cultures of diversity. Our difference and strength lies in the fact that we are not a minority, which we still think we are. The alternative approach to seeing ourselves as a minority is that to see ourselves as part of the full society’s whole in which we live. We are Middle Eastern, European, Post Soviet, North American, and South American but on the other hand we are all Armenian and this uniqueness of diversity should become our potential in a globalising world.
In such a world, where the bringing together of diversity counts, we should understand that all depend on each other, and it is the diversity which is able to bring sides of interest together.

In this geopolitical context lies also kemalist turkey, a state built upon a myth. A state, whose structure and system is still that of a post World War I creation. A state structure that has only survived due to becoming part of a strategic “group of friends”, who were in need of it, and thus throughout time became dependent on that “group of friends”. Now that that “group of friends” indirectly split into a superpower, named USA and a new power named EU, the third “friend” named turkey had to shift its position, deciding which track to follow. As could be observed it started approaching the new power that was geographically closer to it. This new developing power, the European Union accordingly adopted a policy of indirect expansion in which turkey once again became a desirable “friend”. Accordingly, turkey had to find its new role and gradually started to pretend to become the new mediator between East and West, between Europe and the Muslim world. However, what it forgot and what the Europeans thought could be solved easily was the fact that turkey will become the problem itself.

Yes, turkey will become a major problem itself, simply because its state ideology is still based on racism, its political system is still that of a post World War I structure, and its legitimacy is based on covered lies.
Just like Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy, and Bolshevik Russia would have no place in a globalising world of the 21st century so will kemalist
turkey have no place in the future and thus it will tear apart from within causing a great threat of regional insecurity.
The division is already clear, two internal powers struggling for the chair, the nationalistic kemalistic young Turkish ideology and the pretended “modern” ottoman style Islamic movement. Now at times when the struggle for power between those two internal forces will explode, Armenians and Armenia should be ready in becoming the guarantee of stability in the region.
In that situation of greater threat towards greater chaos in the entire region, Armenia and Armenians throughout the Diaspora should be ready to become the true mediators between East and West, between the greater powers and the local players; all this simply because our experience as a whole is unique in this world. It is unique because history forced us to become like this, and now that we are like this, different but unique we should see it as our challenge, a challenge that will bring us back our full strength. At this moment, we should start preparing the societies in which we live in for the big security threat that will occur the moment Turkey will shift into greater internal chaos. We have to make it clear to the political elites of the countries and regions we live in that such a threat of instability in the region will be a threat to the interests of each society we live in. We have to gradually get out of the trauma of bagging and seeing ourselves as weak. We have to know that we are strong because we can serve for the good of our societies and become a light for them, all this just because we have the experience and insight of knowing what the real story is about.

Besides all this, we have to be careful of not falling into the trap into which we have fallen many times throughout history. The trap of taking sides with one of those players be it Russia, the European Union, The United States or any local player. We can only become the true stability factor and mediator between all if we stay neutral, but through becoming neutral give each player the knowledge of our experience and the assurance and guarantee for Stability.

We should see this as a mission of all Armenians to the world. A mission which if achieved throughout, our entire potential will lead us not only towards our self-preservation but will also give us back what is ours. It will pave the way to rebuild a Free, Independent, and United Armenia. An Armenia that has the true ability of becoming a mediator. An Armenia that will become a centre of diversity. An Armenia, which will be reborn to its rich heritage, which accordingly will contribute and give to the world rather than wish to get. It will be an Armenia where besides speaking Armenian all other languages will be spoken. It will be an Armenia which will contribute to civilization not think of destroying civilization.
Yes, we have a mission in this globalising world a mission that should give us hope again, a mission which if worked for will give us back our full strength as a whole, simply because we are a whole but we think we are parts. Let us start working from today in fulfilling our mission in order to force all those who are responsible for our present situation to give us back what is ours, to give us back all that for which we have struggled all our lives. For which we have lived and died. We should not hesitate, rather renew our faith, the faith of our ancestors which has led us throughout history. We should renew our braveness, the braveness of all our heroes who died for the sake of our people and the will of determination. We should renew our spirit of survival a spirit that has seen everything and for which it has given millions of martyrs, who died simply because they were Armenian.
Yes, Now that we are standing in front of such a decision of where to go and what to do the only thing which should give us strength should be the idea that civilization started from Mount Ararat and the people who contributed to protecting civilization will whatsoever re-gather around their Holy Mountain and rebuild around it a free Independent and United Armenia that will go on contributing to world civilization.
